Privacy statement

This statement explains which personal data D'Hondt Service processes, through this website and when you are a customer, why, and what rights you have.

Who is responsible?

D'Hondt Service — sole proprietorship of Terry D'Hondt

Company number: 0805.447.517 (VAT BE 0805.447.517)

The quote form

When you send the quote form, you give us your name, phone number, email address and the service you need and, optionally, the property address and your message. Without that data we cannot send you a quote. We use it only to answer your request (steps before a contract, article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, if you give us the job, to carry out the work.

Your request is delivered as an email to our mailbox by Cloudflare, which also hosts the website. If that fails, we use Web3Forms (Web3Creative). Both act as processors: they process your data on our behalf; Web3Forms stores the submission temporarily on its servers. Cloudflare is a US company that takes part in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; Web3Forms is based outside the European Union. You can read more in the Cloudflare privacy policy and the Web3Forms privacy policy.

If sending fails, we offer to send the request with your own email program. In that case the message goes straight from your device to us, with no intermediary.

We do not sell your data or pass it on to third parties for commercial purposes. If your request does not lead to a job, we delete it after 12 months.

When you are a customer

For the quote, the job and the invoice we use your name, address, phone number and email address and, for a business, its VAT number. That is needed to perform the contract (article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to meet our accounting and tax obligations (article 6(1)(c) GDPR). We keep quotes and invoices for as long as the law requires, ten years for the accounts.

Your data only goes to those who need it for these tasks: our accountant and the services that provide our email (Microsoft Outlook) and this website (Cloudflare). Our general terms are on the General terms page.

Photos of the work

Before, during and after the work we may take photos of the rooms we work in, as proof of the state of the home and of the work done. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f) GDPR): if there is a disagreement about existing damage or extra work, we can show what it was like. As far as possible we keep people, documents and personal photos out of the picture. These photos are not published and are deleted two years after the last payment, or later if a dispute is ongoing. You can object to these photos.

We only publish photos (on this website, our Google Business Profile, our Facebook page, our TikTok account or in print) with your separate, written consent, per channel (article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Refusing has no effect on the job or the price. Published photos show no recognisable people, documents or personal photos, no façade, house number or street, and we remove the location data from the files. You can withdraw your consent at any time by email or phone: we then take the photos off the website, Google, Facebook and TikTok within 7 days and no longer use them in new print. Print that has already been handed out cannot be recalled.

Cookies and external services

This website sets no advertising, analytics or profiling cookies. There are no visitor statistics, no advertising script and no tracker.

If you choose a language yourself, the website remembers that choice in a single functional cookie (taal), so the homepage shows you that language from then on. The cookie holds only the language code, is not shared and expires after a year. If you don't choose a language, the homepage shows the language your browser asks for when that is French or English — nothing is stored for that.

The website's fonts and images are loaded from our own server, not through an external service. The website makes no connection with third parties by itself: that only happens when you send the quote form yourself or click a link to another website, such as Google or Facebook.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. To protect the site against abuse by bots, Cloudflare may set a technical cookie (__cf_bm). That cookie is necessary for the security and proper working of the website, contains no personal information and is not used to track you. No consent is required for it.

As with any website, the server records the technical data needed to show the page, including your IP address.

On the download pages for Terry and his partners (/media), your browser may remember what you fill in yourself in the quote template (local storage). It stays on your own device, is never sent and is gone as soon as you click "Leegmaken".

You can always refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website keeps working as normal.

Links to Google, Facebook and TikTok

At the bottom of the website are links to our Google Business Profile, our Facebook page and our TikTok account. They are ordinary links: nothing is embedded, and no data is shared with those parties until you click them yourself. On those pages the privacy policy of Google, Meta or TikTok applies.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to object and to take your data with you (portability). If you gave consent, for example for photos, you can withdraw it at any time. We make no decisions based solely on automated processing. For all of this, send an email to dhondtservice.ninove.001@outlook.com.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — dataprotectionauthority.be.

Changes

We update this statement when the website or the way we work changes. This version dates from 22 September 2026.
